Research--Nucleotide metabolism, cytoskeleton regulation and gene expression

1. Nucleotide metabolism in DNA damage

The molecular mechanism regulating dTTP synthesis is coordinated with DNA damage signal for repair. We focus on two research aspects: (i) the mechanism for DNA damage site-specific production of dTTP, (ii) design of small molecules targeting dTTP formation for specific intervention of DNA repair in malignant tumor cells.

 

2. Assessment of the Rho-ROCK pathway in differentiation and stress response

RhoA/ROCK-mediated contractility is critical for many cellular processes. Currently, we are interested in understanding how RhoA-ROCK pathway regulates gene expression in osteoblast committment of mesenchymal stem cell and centrosomal overduplication in response to DNA damage.
